William Faulkner’s library is pictured at his home at Rowan Oak, May 30, 2015, in Oxford, Mississippi. The room was originally his writing room until his study was built in 1952. Faulkner built the bookcases himself. The paintings on the wall are, from left, William clark Falkner, his great-grandfather; Murry Cuthbert Falkner, his father; and John Welsey Thompson Falkner, his grandfather. They were painted by his mother, Maud Butler Falkner. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
