The Vulcan statue is pictured in Vulcan Park, July 19, 2015, in Birmingham, Alabama. The iron statue depicts the Roman God of the fire and forge, Vulcan, and offers an observation deck that offers sweeping views of the city. The 56-foot Vulcan statue, built in 1904, is the tallest cast iron statue in the world. It pays homage to Birmingham’s roots in the iron and steel industries. The statue, created by Italian sculptor Giuseppe Moretti, is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
