Wildflowers bloom alongside the old railroad depot Sept. 24, 2011 in Holly Springs, Miss. The depot was the site of a Civil War skirmish between Union General Ulysses S. Grant and Confederate General Earl Van Dorn. Grant was using the railroad to ship munitions, but the depot, railroad cars, and supplies were burned when Van Dorn led a cavalry of 3,500 men into Holly Springs and raided Grant's encampment.
