Windows are taped to prevent hurricane damage at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, Sept. 2, 2019, in St. Augustine, Florida. Floridians along the East Coast spent the past few days preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Dorian, which inflicted heavy damage earlier in the week when it scraped the Bahamas as a category five hurricane. Though many people still tape windows before hurricanes, experts do not recommend it. Residents and business owners are now advised to protect windows and doors with plywood or storm shutters instead of tape. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
