A mural painted on the side of Rosalie Station Car Wash pays homage to the area’s railroad history, Nov. 13, 2022, in Long Beach, Mississippi. The area of Long Beach was originally known as Rosalie in 1865, shortly before the arrival of the railroad in 1870. t was originally an agriculture town and was known for its radishes. Long Beach, located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, was heavily impacted by Hurricane Katrina, which struck shortly after the city’s centennial in 2005.
