Black ribbons hang on the Old Courthouse Museum after the death of local author Harper Lee, Feb. 19, 2016, in Monroeville, Alabama. Lee, who became famous for her 1960 novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” died in Monroeville earlier that day at the age of 89. Shortly after her death was announced, visitors flocked to the small town to visit the former courthouse, which was the inspiration for a pivotal part of the book. (Photo by Carmen K.
