Tennessee Civil War soldiers are honored with a monument, “Passing of Honor” by sculptor Gerald Sanders, at Shiloh National Military Park, Sept. 21, 2016, in Shiloh, Tennessee. The park commemorates the Battle of Shiloh, which was one of the first major battles of the American Civil War and resulted in nearly 24,000 men killed, missing, or wounded. The park, established in 1894, encompasses nearly 4,000 acres and is managed by the National Park Service.
