The Waveland Lighthouse serves as a public restroom, also known as a comfort station, for beachgoers near the Garfield Ladner Pier, April 3, 2021, in Waveland, Mississippi. The building had to be elevated due to flood zone requirements, so the faux lighthouse protects the elevator motor from storm surge. The $1.9 million building was completed in January 2019 as part of revitalization efforts following Hurricane Katrina, which heavily damaged the area in 2005. The building is 78 feet tall and built to withstand 200 mph winds. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
