A swamp rabbit (Sylvilagus aquaticus) forages in a flowerbed at Bellingrath Gardens, March 4, 2022, in Theodore, Alabama. Swamp rabbits, also known as cane-cutters, are one of four species of rabbits found in Alabama. The live mainly in lowland and wetland areas. Swamp rabbits are herbivores and eat a variety of plants.
