Weeping willow (Salix babylonica) is pictured at Charles Wood Japanese Garden, April 9, 2017, in Mobile, Alabama. Weeping willow is native to China but can be found throughout the world due to trading on the Silk Road. The deciduous tree grows quickly but has a lifespan ranging only 40-75 years. The 14.6-acre garden features ponds filled with koi, nature trails, bridges, walking paths, cherry trees, and Japanese maples. The gardens are named for Charles Wood, who spent years transforming the former fish hatchery into a garden. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
