A statue of Cudjoe Kazoola Lewis, one of the last known survivors of the slave ship Clotilda, is displayed at the History Museum of Mobile, March 19, 2019, in Mobile, Alabama. Lewis was born in Africa in 1841 and originally named Oluale Kossola or Oluale Kazoola. He was kidnapped from his home and brought to America with 115 other slaves on the slave ship Clotilda in 1860.
