The annual mum show is held every November and features more than 345 cascades of mums, 35 hanging baskets, and more than 3,300 flowering mum plants which horticulturists spend months developing and training. Bellingrath Gardens was created by Walter Bellingrath, president of the Mobile Coca-Cola Bottling Company, for his wife, Bessie Bellingrath. They opened the 65-acre gardens to the public in 1932.
