The Refugio County Courthouse is pictured, Sept. 29, 2017, in Refugio, Texas. The 1917 courthouse, built in a Mission style to reflect the town’s Spanish roots, was designed by architect Atlee B. Ayres. It was enlarged and renovated in 1951 in the Moderne architectural style. The Refugio County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. (Photo by Carmen K.
