Largeflower rose gentian (Sabatia grandiflora), also known as marsh-pink, grows wild along the side of the road, July 7, 2021, in Dauphin Island, Alabama. The wildflower features a five-petal pink flower with a yellow, star-shaped center. It is endemic to Florida and parts of coastal Alabama, specifically Mobile County and Escambia County. Marsh-pink prefers to grow in wet prairies, pine flatwoods, and near freshwater marshes.
