Members of the USS Alabama’s Living History Crew watch as a crowd gathers to see them engage vintage aircraft in a mock World War II battle, Aug. 12, 2017, at Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Ala. The battleship marked its 75th birthday with a concert, 1940s dance exhibition, wreath laying, reenactment, and birthday cake. The ship was commissioned Aug. 16, 1942, earning nine battle stars before being decommissioned in 1947. It returned to Mobile in 1964 and was restored with funds from a massive campaign that raised nearly $100,000 from school children and another $1 million in corporate donations. It was named a National Historic Landmark in 1986. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
