A television news anchorman and videographer record a broadcast from the site of a Confederate monument in Lee Square, June 10, 2020, in Pensacola, Florida. The monument, erected at downtown in the 1890s, has been the center of controversy recently as local supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement call for its removal. A petition has been filed and talks are underway between residents and city officials, but Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson says he doesn’t feel this is the right time to remove the monument. Confederate monuments have been removed from public spaces around the country following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed African-American who died while being arrested in Minnesota.
