French Governor Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville, used the home as his headquarters. Mary and Bob Mahoney acquired the property in 1962 and converted it into a restaurant specializing in Creole-style food. The upscale restaurant also features a New Orleans-style courtyard where patrons can dine. Mary Mahoney’s is also known as The Old French House and The Brunet-Fourchy House.
