A monument honors economist Henry George at Henry George Bluff Park, Sept. 8, 2022, in Fairhope, Alabama. Fairhope was founded in 1894 as a utopian single-tax colony whereby all government monies are obtained from a single tax on land values. It is one of only two single tax colonies in the U.S. Approximately 15,326 people live in Fairhope, which is located in Baldwin County along the Gulf Coast. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
