A rainbow flag, also known as a gay pride flag or LGBT pride flag, hangs from a balcony on Dauphin Street, July 3, 2020, in Mobile, Alabama. The rainbow flag is often used as a symbol of pride for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities. It originated in San Francisco but is now used worldwide. It is also used as a symbol of social equality and individuality. It was designed by gay activist Gilbert Baker in 1978. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
