The historic Battle House Hotel is pictured, Nov. 6, 2021, in Mobile, Alabama. The hotel, currently known as The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa, was built in 1908, replacing an earlier structure that burned down in 1905. It is one of the earliest steel frame structures in the United States. Numerous famous guests have stayed at the Battle House, including Stephen A. Douglas, Henry Clay, Jefferson Davis, Millard Filmore, Oscar Wilde, Winfield Scott, and Woodrow Wilson.
