The Buick logo is pictured on the historic Buick Building, formerly home of Turner-Todd Motor Company, on St. Louis Street, Sept. 30, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama. The building, constructed in 1925, is a contributing property in the Automobile Alley Historic District and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Buick Building underwent a $5 million restoration in 2015. The area is called Automobile Alley due to the many automobile dealerships on the street in its heyday in the 1920s-1940s. The area is undergoing urban revitalization, with experts predicting that the street of vacant storefronts will eventually become a tech corridor filled with office buildings, restaurants, breweries, apartments, and retail stores. Buick is the oldest American auto maker still in operation in the United States. The company produced its first automobile in 1899. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
