A vintage 1948 Chevrolet coupe sits on a trailer during the 25th annual Cruisin’ the Coast antique car show, Oct. 9, 2021, in Biloxi, Mississippi. The car show began in 1996 to celebrate antique, classic and hot rod vehicles. Approximately 9,045 antique cars pre-registered this year, with thousands of others cruising up and down the 60-mile stretch of Highway 90 from Pascagoula, Mississippi to Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi during the week-long event. Cruisin’ the Coast is now the largest annual event in Mississippi, with an economic impact of more than $28 million. The event has won numerous awards including the Mississippi Governor’s Excellence in Tourism Award, Festival of the Year from the State of Mississippi and the Southeast Tourism Society, Best Car Show from USA Today, Southern Travel Treasure from AAA, and Restoration Event of the Year from the Automotive Restoration Market.
