Twin Beech AME Zion Church is pictured, Oct. 16, 2021, in Fairhope, Alabama. The church was built in 1925 by architect Axal Johnson. It is significant for its ornamental concrete block and medieval eclecticism showcased in the twin towers and buttresses. The church was organized in 1867 to serve newly-freed African-Americans living around Battles Wharf. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
