The POW/MIA symbol originated with Mary Hoff, wife of MIA Lt. Commander Michael Hoff; the design was created by Newt Heisley. Patriots Point Memorial, located near the Daphne Civic Center annex, is dedicated to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
