A statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stands in Kelly Ingram Park, July 12, 2015, in Birmingham, Alabama. The four-acre park is located in the Birmingham Civil Rights District and was one of the main staging areas for civil rights activists. Numerous activists were attacked on the site by high-power water hoses and police dogs, with key moments immortalized in bronze throughout the park. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
