Tanner Williams School, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1915, is pictured, Aug. 16, 2023, in Tanner Williams, Alabama. The school was used until 1984. In 1995, a goup of former students purchased the school from the Mobile County Public School System and created Tanner Williams Civic and Historical Society (TWCHS) in order to preserve the school and its history.
